Frankston
Frankston’s long, wide, safe sandy bay beaches are ideal for swimming and other watersports including snorkelling, diving, sailboarding and yachting. With excellent launch facilities, they are also popular for boating, while foreshore reserves are great for picnics and barbecues. There is also a playground for children.

Mount Eliza
There are a number of small, sandy bay beaches between Mount Eliza and Mornington including Daveys Bay, Canadian and Half Moon bays, Ranelagh and Sunnyside beaches.

Mornington
A number of safe, sandy swimming beaches are located around this picturesque bay harbour and nearby areas, including Mills, Scout, Shire Hall, Mothers, Royal and Fishermans beaches. Excellent yacht and motor boating facilities are available, while the extensive foreshore reserves have picnic and barbecue facilities, a boardwalk and lookouts around Schnapper Point.

Mount Martha
A series of safe, sandy bay beaches with yacht and boating facilities. The foreshore reserves have picnic and barbecue facilities and there is also a coastal walking path.

Safety Beach
This calm, sandy bay swimming beach is popular for boating and has a foreshore reserve with children’s playground.

Dromana
This long sweep of sandy beach stretches along the bay from Safety Beach to Anthony’s Nose. Excellent reserves with picnic shelters, barbecues and playgrounds are set among the foreshore lawns. This is also a popular camping area.

Rosebud
A popular, family swimming beach on the bay that is protected by offshore sandbars. Extensive shaded foreshore reserves have picnic, barbecue and play facilities.

Rye
A wide, sandy bay beach with a large grassed foreshore reserve. Features include a long jetty, excellent picnic and barbecue facilities, children's playground, extensive boat launching, washing and parking facilities and a cycling/walking track.

Blairgowrie
Sandy bay beach with barbecue and picnic facilities in the foreshore reserve. The boat ramp is suitable for small craft and there is a walking and cycling track.

Sorrento Front Beach
This extremely popular bay beach and holiday destination has excellent foreshore reserves with extensive picnic and barbecue facilities, and children's playground. The terminal for the Queenscliff-Sorrento car andpassenger ferry is at Sorrento Pier. There are also modern boat launching and yachting facilities and a cycling and walking track.

Portsea Front Beach
Last in the string of Port Phillip Bay beaches, this popular bay beach holiday destination has wide foreshore reserves with picnic and barbecue facilities. The Queenscliff passenger ferry leaves from Portsea Pier.

Portsea Surf Beach
This popular surf beach is part of the Mornington Peninsula National Park. As it can be treacherous at times, care should be taken.
Patrolled from the end of November to Easter by Portsea Surf Life Saving Club and professional lifeguards (daily from December 26-January 26. Weekends and public holidays at other times).

Sorrento Ocean Beach
This popular surf beach is part of the Mornington Peninsula National Park. There are picnic and barbecue areas, as well as a kiosk and tearooms.

Rye Ocean Beach
This surf beach within the Mornington Peninsula National Park has a walking track to the beach. However, care should be taken because rips can make the beach unsafe for swimming.

Gunnamatta Beach
This ocean surf beach is within the Mornington Peninsula National Park. Care should be taken, as rips can make this beach unsafe for swimming.

Flinders Ocean Beach
This protected sandy bay beach has excellent picnic, barbecue and play facilities in the foreshore reserve, as well as a boat ramp. Flinders Ocean Beach is part of Mornington Peninsula National Park.

Shoreham Beach
Steep, sandy, pine-tree framed beaches are located around the mouth of Stony Creek and rocky platforms and reefs are popular for family exploration. The foreshore reserve has picnic and barbecue facilities.

Point Leo Surf Beach
This popular surf beach has swells rolling in from Bass Strait. The extensive foreshore reserve has picnic, barbecue and play facilities, as well as a kiosk and camping area.

Merricks Beach
